design process
At Wax On Design we resolutely follow the design process when taking any job to completion. Each stage is just as important as the next, and all are critical for creating the best solution for our client. We believe communication is the key to developing exactly what the client requires from their brief, and the client is consulted at all points throughout the process to allow their ideas to flourish in the way they intended.

The brief stage is a constituent part the design process. At this stage we meet with the client either in person (or over the phone if they are busy/international). This allows us to identify their aims and needs much more accurately than using a written brief.
At this time we begin the brain storming process to align ourselves with the client’s needs. This gives us a repository of ideas and concepts from which the design will develop. We will also liaise with the client during this stage to offer ideas and advice to them and iron out the specifics or the project – so no time is wasted.

After our initial meeting, we will work together to brainstorm and roughly sketch out the ideas we have. From there, we can research the target demographic and compare your needs with that of your competitors to build a better picture of your requirements.
Combining the images and rough sketches created during this phase, we strive to build a library of ideas to mould into a bare bone ‘idea’ from which to build upon.

The client is then asked to provide feedback on the barebones design ideas, choosing a design to be worked on, and carried to completion. The communication between the Wax On and the client at this stage is vital to ensure that the chosen design is perfect in every way – this stage can have as much or as little communication between us as the client requires – however – the more hands on a client is, the better a library of advice we have from which to develop the piece.
At this point, we expand on the selected idea, adding elements established in the previous stages, or combining designs/parts of the other work to develop something truly special.

The final stage is all about the detail. This part of the process concerns the subtle fine tuning of a design that makes the work really shine.
After this, we have a review phase to make sure each and every requirement of the client has been fully met. Only when every box has been ticked, will we call the project complete.
